Tope Alabi is a Nigerian Gospel singer who sings in a native language; Yoruba.
Tobe Alabi is one of the eldest female vocalist in the Nigerian Gospel music industry 11 albums and thousands of singles.

Early Life

Temitope Alabi was born to the family of Pa Joseph Akinyele on 27th October, 1970 in Ogun state.

Tobe Alabi grew up in her hometown; Yewa, Imeko of ogun State and was put in a strict environment by her parents where she grew up by the precept and the dealings of Christianity.

She attended Oba Akinyele Memorial High School where she obtained her senior secondary certificate from the West Africa Examination Council (WAEC).

Tope Alabi passion for music and acting dated back to her school days. Due to her passion for music, she joined a theatre group in secondary school. She later joined Jesters International group in 1983 and was acting with Papilolo and Aderupoko.

Tope Alabi worked in the Nigerian Television Authority (NTA) in Ibadan around 1990 & 1991. After working for NTA, she later got a job in an advertising company (Centre-spread Advertising Limited, Lagos) in 1991 – 1992.

After years of working in white collar organizations, Tope Alabi decided to go back into acting and joined Alade Aromire Theatre group in 1994. Tope Alabi started her music career by making soundtracks for movies that was when she ventured into making her own songs.

She still composes songs for the Yoruba Movie industry and is considered to be at the fore front of the soundtracks in the Yoruba Movie industry.

Tobe Alabi Family; Husband And Children

Tope Alabi got married to Soji Alabi in 1998 and birthed three beautiful children, a boy and two daughters;

Her first daughter’s name is Ayomikun Alabi, she is 22 years old and studies music in Bowen University. Ayomikun is an entrepreneur and owns a Hair Brand known as ‘Lilas Hair’.

Tope Alabi second child is a boy, his name is Boluwatife Alabi. Boluwatife is an extrovert and hence his information are mostly not known as a leads a quiet life.

The last child is a female; Deborah Alabi. Deborah is a brand influencer and a model.

Tope Alabi Record Label

Tope Alabi belongs to a record label she co-founded with her husband called “Tope Alabi Gospel Vibe”. Via the record label, Tope and her husband organizes an annual concert (praise the Almighty concert) where people from different denomination come to worship God.

The record label also has a subsidiary called the Mardebra Comforter foundation where her and her husband give to the poor and less privileged.
